Flickr (Creative Commons)


What is it?
  • Flickr is an image and video hosting and online community website where users can share embed personal photographs. Most users use creative commons.
How can you use it?
  • As a class, students can have an account where they save pictures in to use as needed for projects. To do this teachers would have to create and monitor the account.
  • Students who have their own account can use thousands of free pictures for projects in any subject area. Since most users use a creative commons license so students would not be violating any copy right laws, but they would need to give credit.

Why would you use it?
  • Students can benefit from using Flickr because it organizes and stores thousands of photos.
  • Pros- One place for all of students photos will save them time. Creative commons licensing ensures that students will not violate copy right laws.
  • Cons- Must be a member to use most pictures.
